Hometown Heroes 2018: Steve Burke

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.J.—Steve Burke retired in 2015 from the position of assistant superintendent of Millville Public Schools after serving 40 years as a teacher, principal, and district administrator. He is a past recipient of the Greater Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Citizen Award, the Millville Education Association Administrator of the Year Award, the Cumberland County Teacher of the Year Award, and the Millville Jaycees Outstanding Young Educator Award. Steve served as president of the Millville Police Athletic League (PAL) for more than 10 years and continues to serve in his retirement.

Steve is proud of the many dedicated police officers, PAL board members, volunteers, coaches, former co-workers, and community members who have helped to make the Millville PAL organization a success. He is especially proud of the young PAL members who have chosen to participate in the wide variety of activities that are offered throughout the year.
