Hometown Heroes 2018: Carlo Mercado

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.J.—Carlo Mercado, a resident of Vineland and firefighter, has made community service a way of life. Carlos currently serves as the Legislative Chairman for the Firefighter’s Mutual Benevolent Association, VP of his Firefighter’s Union, Mentor and Community Advisory Member to the Board of Education, VP of The M25 Initiative and Co-Chair of the Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Strong Campaign.

In addition to helping numerous non-profits with their fundraising efforts, he serves on the Boards of the CCTEC Foundation, CCC Hispanic Advisory and the NJ Hispanic Leadership Association. He previously served as a Freeholder, School Board Member, President of the Board of Social Services, Habitat for Humanity and Human Relations Commission. He was recently appointed by the Governor as a Commissioner to the County Tax Board.
