Residents in South Jersey may be seeing lower energy bills.

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities approved the results of the state's 17th annual Electricity Auction for Basic Generation Service and as a result customers of Atlantic City Electric and PSE&G will begin to see lower energy costs.

Ratepayers with Atlantic City Electric will save an average of over $5 on their bills, while PSE&G customers will save an estimated $2.

The Basic Generation Service auction determines, in part, the cost of electricity for most New Jersey residents and many businesses for a 12-month period starting Friday, June 1st.
