During his speech, Murphy thanked the farming and agricultural community for their commitment in keeping New Jersey "the Garden State" and discussed what needs to be done to continue to grow the industries success.

We feed our state, we feed the country, we feed the world.

"We are the Garden State," said Murphy. "We feed our state, we feed the country, we feed the world and we have to recognize that that's a key element of our society and economy and leadership has to understand that and invest in it and be as good a partner as possible."

The event also featured a keynote address from Senate President Steve Sweeney and the agriculture address from New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture Douglas Fisher.

The New Jersey State Agricultural Convention and Trade Show is set to continue on Thursday, February 8th, with more presentations, vendors, and educational workshops.
