Canines Strut Their Stuff at Dog Show in Wildwood

WILDWOOD, N.J. -

Wildwood has officially gone to the dogs.

It was a tail-wagging good time on the Boardwalk as the Boardwalk Kennel Club, Sand & Sea Kennel Club, and the Union County Kennel Club kicked off the annual Atlantic Ocean Classic Dog Show.

On Wednesday, January 17th, hundreds of dogs and their owners filed into the Wildwood Convention Center to show off their talents and strut their stuff in the show ring for judges and dog lovers of all ages.

Officials say while it is a competition, everyone still gets to leave as a winner.

"We all love our dogs and we certainly like to brag about our dogs," said Dennis Simon, treasurer of the Union County Kennel Club. "You know with all of this competition going on ... win or lose, all of us ... go home with the best dog — our own dog."

Along with watching the competition, attendees will also get to enjoy meet-and-greet opportunities with show dogs, explore various vendors and watch special K-9 demonstrations.

The Atlantic Ocean Classic Dog Show will run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. everyday through Sunday, January 21st.

Tickets can be purchased at the door.
