Winter Warmup Brings Out Many in HaddonfieldLast Edited:
Just a week ago much of South Jersey was blanketed with inches of snow. But as temperatures keep climbing, that snow keeps melting and many are out enjoying a winter warmup.
The calendar may read Thursday, January 11, but this winter day has it feeling more like spring. \
And many people got out in Haddonfield for the winter warmup.
“I love the town and I love the weather,” said Lou Quaranto Jr., of Haddonfield.
“It’s fabulous," said Jeanne Al-Greene, of Westmont. "I wish it would last. After last week, this is a Godsend."
This time last week high winds and snow took over the town in Camden County, but today was the complete opposite.
“Last week was horrible with the snow and the ice," said Joe Levine, of Haddonfield. " Right now though, I’m loving it. I’m out and about, buying my food and having a good time.”
“I think it’s beautiful," said Elyssa Palmisan, of Oaklyn. "I’m noticing people at the bistro are eating outside today, I mean that’s a major difference from last week when we had that storm."
She used today’s warm weather to get back to her normal lunch hour walks.
“I didn’t walk once last week, I stayed in. Today’s gorgeous,” said Palmisan.
The snow from last week was melting as many got out to get a taste of the beautiful sunny day.
“I love it," said George Hutchinson, of Haddonfield. "I mean after what we went through last week, it’s crazy. We realize it’s January, but I’ll take 40, 50-degree weather any day."
And for the most part, people are ready to say goodbye to the frigid temperatures winter has thrown our way so far and keep the warmer temperatures.
“I just wish it would stay, that would be lovely,” said Palmisan.
“I hope it stays this way for a while, everybody likes this kind of weather,” said Tony Rivas, of Haddonfield.
“I’m crossing my fingers and hoping that it will last longer. I know next week it’s going to be cold again but I’m hoping that’s just a blip,” said Al-Greene.
The warm weather may be a favorite, but it seems you can’t have too much of a good thing as Mother Nature still has some winter weather in store for South Jersey.
