AtlantiCare Awards 'Healthy Schools, Healthy Children' in South Jersey

AtlantiCare is making sure children in South Jersey stay active and healthy by providing grants to schools throughout the area.

On Tuesday, January 9th, at Stockton University, AtlantiCare awarded representatives from 60 schools in Atlantic, Cape May, and Ocean counties with mini-grants from their Healthy Schools, Healthy Children program for the 2017-2018 school year.

In total, $51,000 in grants were presented to schools that demonstrated innovative initiatives aimed at encouraging physical activity and healthy eating habits among students and their families, as well as staff.

The grants will support new and existing school gardens and wellness activities.
