Cape May-Lewes Ferry Suspends Operations Due to Ice

Last Edited:
CAPE MAY, N.J. -

Icy conditions continue to cause headaches for travelers who use the Cape May-Lewes Ferry.

Ice buildup in the Cape May Canal and the Delaware Bay has forced officials to suspend operations until late afternoon on Tuesday, January 9th.

Ferry operations have been on hold since Thursday, January 4th, after heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures caused large sheets of ice to form on the water.

Officials are advising travelers to continue to visit the Cape May-Lewes Ferry website for updates on when the ferry will be up and running again.
