Retired Gloucester Twp. Police K-9 Nero Passes Away

The Gloucester Township Police Department is mourning the loss of a beloved retired K-9.

The department has announced that K-9 Officer Nero passed away on New Year's Eve.

Nero served alongside his handler from 2008 up until his retirement in 2016.

During the K-9 officer's career, he was awarded numerous distinctions and honors for his work, including a life-saving citation for tracking and locating an elderly woman who had wandered off during freezing temperatures and would have died had he not found her.

Nero happily spent the last years of his life surrounded by his family.
