NEW JERSEY -

With the start of a new year come new changes for workers in New Jersey.

As of Monday, January 1st, minimum-wage workers throughout the state will start to see a slight increase in their paychecks.

Minimum wage is set to increase from $8.44 per hour to $8.60, which is a 16-cent increase for the estimated 300,000 minimum-wage workers in New Jersey.

The increase comes from a law passed a few years ago that ties minimum-wage rates to the Consumer Price Index.

According to the New Jersey Policy Perspective, minimum-wage workers are estimated to earn an extra $469 annually.
