ATLANTIC COUNTY, N.J. -

Law enforcement departments throughout Atlantic County grabbed their shopping carts this past weekend to bring holiday cheer to kids in need.

On Saturday, December 3rd, officers from various Atlantic County police departments, including the Hamilton Township, Egg Harbor Township, and Galloway Township, joined together for the 7th annual Shop with a Cop event.

The program allows officers to brighten up the holidays for more than 120 South Jersey kids by taking them down the aisles of a local Wal-Mart to do a little holiday shopping.

Children got to pick out a few items on their respective wish lists, enjoy a tasty breakfast, and a visit from Santa.

Officials say the event is a great way to bring police officers and the communities they serve closer together.
