MANTUA, N.J. -

A mother on a mission stopped by a South Jersey elementary school Thursday night to spread a message love to the community.

On Thursday, November 31st, author Scarlett Lewis from the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement stopped by the J. Mason Tomlin Elementary School in Mantua Township to help educate parents and teachers about how they can teach social and emotional learning to their kids.

Lewis' son Jesse was in the first grade when he, 19 of his classmates, and six of his teachers were shot and killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012.

Since then Lewis has been working to spread her son's message of "nourishing, healing love" in hopes of putting an end to these violent acts.
