SOUTH JERSEY -

Earlier this week, we brought you the heartwarming story about a New Jersey woman raising money for a homeless veteran who went out of his way to lend her a helping hand after she ran out of gas.

When we first reported the story she had raised $38,000. But that total has continued to grow and now is up to six figures.

Katie McClure, of Florence Township, started the GoFundMe page to raise money for Johnny, a homeless man that used his last $20 to buy her gas after she ran out on Interstate 95 earlier this month.

As of the publication of this story, the GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $320,000 and continues to grow.

McClure and Johnny stated the money will be used to get Johnny an apartment and reliable transportation.

The remaining funds will then be donated to organizations of Johnny's choosing.
