Heroic Officer Released from Hospital, Spends Time with Sixers

A local hero made his big return home over the weekend and got to celebrate it in grand fashion.

Camden County Police Officer Patrick O'Hanlon was released from the hospital on Saturday, November 4th, after being shot in the leg the Wednesday prior (November 1st) while pursuing a suspect.

O'Hanlon was hailed as a hero for managing to capture the suspect despite his injury.

Fellow officers were on hand to welcome him home on Saturday. Then, on Sunday, November 5th, O'Hanlon got to hang out with the Philadelphia 76ers and members of the community at the Sixers' practice facility in Camden.

Officials say they are happy O'Hanlon is home and are praying for his full recovery.
