Latest Monmouth University Poll: Murphy Maintains Lead Over Guadagno

With less than a week away from the November 7th election, a new poll out from Monmouth University shows that Democratic gubernatorial candidate Phil Murphy still holds a steady lead in this year's governor's race in New Jersey.

The latest Monmouth poll shows Murphy holds a 14-point lead over Republican candidate and current Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno.

Murphy drew 53 percent of support from likely voters in the state while Guadagno earned 39 percent.

Murphy held a similar lead over Guadagno at the beginning of October.

According to the Monmouth poll, independent candidates earned two percent while seven percent of likely voters are undecided.

The Monmouth University Poll was conducted by telephone from Friday, October 27th to Tuesday, October 31, 2017, with 529 New Jersey residents likely to vote in the 2017 gubernatorial election and a margin of error of +/- 4.3 percent.
