Cold Ups Need for Volunteers for Cumberland County's 'Code Blue' Efforts

Rob Weinstein, the president of the M25 Initiative, is pleading to the public to help his organization help the homeless.

As the temperatures drop, the need for volunteers to assist the Cumberland County-based nonprofit rises. In a letter sent out on Wednesday morning, Nov. 1, Weinstein writes the following:

M25 Weinstein on Donating Code Blue 2017 Dear Friend,

Was it cold walking out of your house today? It was for me! Now, imagine how the season change feels to the over 200 men, women, and children who are homeless in Cumberland County, NJ.

November 1st is the official start of the Cumberland County Code Blue Season.

However, activation only happens when temperatures reach 32 degrees or below with precipitation or 25 degrees or below without precipitation.

We need your help to be ready to assist the homeless during the extreme cold weather!

Give us 5: Five minutes to fill out a volunteer application at, Five Hours of Volunteer time for an Overnight Shift, and a $5 donation (click here). Your five saves lives!

Also, the Cumberland County Housing First Collaborative has already provided homes to 15 of our chronically homeless, but we need your help to provide a HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS for the remaining 27 on our approved list. Would your family, co-workers, companies, organizations, and religious organizations consider providing a "Welcome Home Kit & Party" to one of our clients?
