Future of Former Riversharks Stadium in Question

Last Edited:
CAMDEN, N.J. -

Officials with the Camden County Improvement Authority say that there are no plans as of now to demolish Campbell's Waterfront Stadium.

The stadium, once home to the Camden Riversharks, has been empty since the Riversharks ceased operations back in October 2015.

The team spent 15 seasons at the Waterfront Stadium.

According to Dan Keashen, the spokesman for Camden County, the Camden County Improvement Authority is involved with "confidential and deliberative negotiations with a prospective buyer in regard to the stadium."

He went on to say that, "the second construction phase of a $1 billion project along the waterfront is ongoing adjacent to the site, which will add to the value of the property."

The stadium is being maintained by the Camden County Improvement Authority and hosts regional events.
