NEW JERSEY -

Buying cigarettes in New Jersey is about to become a bit harder for smokers under the age of 21.

This Wednesday, November 1st, the legal age for buying tobacco products in the state will officially be changed to 21.

Back in July, Governor Chris Christie signed a bill into law that would raise the legal smoking age from 19. The new restriction applies to tobacco products and electronic smoking devices.

New Jersey will become the third state in the country to raise its smoking age to 21.
