SOUTH JERSEY — As summer turns to fall, the seasonal changes can be seen and felt everywhere.
From the first chilly breeze to sneak through an open window, to the first yellow leaf that glides silently down to land on a pool deck.
And around every corner it seems there is a wagon waiting to take autumn admirers young and old out into a field to fetch the season’s perfect pumpkin.
Here are nine pumpkin patches in southern New Jersey where families can pick pumpkins just in time for fall.
Sahl’s Father Son Farm
420 West Pestalozzi Street in Galloway
Sahl’s is ready for fall with a corn maze, hayrides, and a pumpkin patch with traditional orange and exotic white pumpkins. Visit the farm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Nov. 4. The farm will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Columbus Day. R and J Farm

R and J offers a hayride to the pumpkin patch where guests can search the field for the perfect pumpkin. The farm also has a corn maze and Cornfield of Terror haunted attraction. Beginning in September, hayride and corn maze hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 23 and Sept. 24, and 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Sept. 30. In October, the hayride and corn maze are open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday, noon to 10 p.m. on Fridays, 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays. Camden Springdale Farms

Springdale Farms has pumpkin picking hayrides Monday through Friday at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The hayride is $3.75 per rider, and pumpkins are 79 cents per pound. From the last week in September to Halloween Day Oct. 31, visitors can wander through Muzzarelli Farms’ pumpkin patch to find the perfect pumpkin. Triple Dog Dare You Christmas Tree Farm

Triple Dog Dare You Christmas Tree Farm doesn’t only celebrate in December. Guests can take a hayride down a decorated trail full of hauntingly happy Halloween happenings to the pumpkin patch.
