Food Banks in South Jersey Awarded $195,000 in Grants

The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs announced on Thursday, September 14th, that six food banks in the state, including some here in South Jersey, have been awarded grants totaling more than $195,000.

Among the six are the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, which received $80,000; the Food Bank of South Jersey ($30,000); and the Rural Development Corporation in Cumberland County ($10,000).

The grant money will be used for food purchases, refrigeration and storage costs, and fuel and transportation costs.

The Community Food Bank of New Jersey will also use $10,000 from its grant to help support its diaper bank, which supplies diapers to families in need through the state.
