DEPTFORD, N.J. -

With elections for the next governor of New Jersey just two months away, officials in South Jersey are making sure residents of all ages are being heard by the candidates.

On Tuesday, September 12th, the group Advocates for Children of New Jersey hosted its 2017 Children's Summit to help bring attention to issues affecting children in the upcoming election.

Among the speakers at the event, held in Deptford, were Green Party Gubernatorial candidate Seth Kaper-Dale, and Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt, who spoke on behalf of Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Phil Murphy.

The Children's Summit covered six key issues facing children in the state, including childhood hunger and homelessness, in hopes of bringing meaningful changes to millions of kids who call New Jersey home.
