NEW JERSEY -

After a week in Texas, members of New Jersey Task Force One are getting ready to head back home to the Garden State.

In an update posted on Monday, September 4th, the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management stated the crew had wrapped up its successful rescue mission and are now in the planning process to make the trip back to New Jersey.

Governor Chris Christie deployed the task force after thousands of residents in Texas had become stranded in their homes after Hurricane Harvey flooded neighborhoods in the Houston area with several feet of water.

Task Force One aided rescue efforts all week moving residents and pets to emergency shelters.
