Absecon Police Seek Tips after Labor Day Weekend Shooting

Officials in Atlantic County are seeking information in relation to a shooting that happened over Labor Day weekend near a busy intersection.

Police in Absecon responded to a call at the intersection of Route 30 and Shore Road in Absecon on Saturday, September 2nd, around 7:30 p.m. for a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, police found an unoccupied Nissan Altima riddled with multiple bullet holes. The police were later called to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center where they found the driver, 25-year-old Laquan Rex, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

According to police, a dark colored 4-door sedan pulled up to his Nissan, during a red light, and opened fire.

A bystander found Rex and rushed him to the hospital. He was later transferred to the Atlantic City campus for emergency surgery.

There is no word on his current condition at this time.
