NEW JERSEY --In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, thousands across the country have come to the aid of victims by donating to relief and rescue efforts.

Many in the South Jersey area alone have been stepping up to the plate to help including local celebrity and All-Star baseball player for the Los Angeles Angels, Mike Trout. In a statement released on Tuesday, August 29th, Trout shared that he would be donating $27,000, symbolic of his No. 27 jersey, to the American Red Cross.

He also called for his fellow teammates, Major League Baseball, and for fans to do their part and make a donation of any size to help those affected by the disaster. (How you can help.)
