New Jersey Red Cross Sends Extra Volunteers to Texas

The New Jersey division of the American Red Cross has sent an additional 19 volunteers to Texas to help with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

On the morning of Tuesday, August 29th, the extra helping hands boarded a bus to head out and bring aid to the thousands of victims forced out of their homes. The disastrous storm has dropped more than 50 inches of rain since making landfall.

Emergency shelters in the area are beginning to reach capacity as more continue to seek shelter from the rain and flooding.
