Christie: Texas Lawmakers 'Hypocrites' for Seeking Harvey-Related Aid

NEW JERSEY -

Governor Chris Christie called lawmakers in Texas "hypocrites" for seeking a federal disaster declaration for Hurricane Harvey, after they voted against federal aid to New Jersey for Superstorm Sandy.

Christie made the statement on Monday, August 28th, and also said he hopes Texas doesn't experience the same delay in disaster relief that New Jersey went through back in 2013.

Two dozen representatives voted against the $51 billion Sandy aid package, citing additional spending in initial draft as the reason.

President Donald Trump's Administration said it will make sure Texas get what it needs to recover from this unprecedented natural disaster.
