Public Memorial for Jim Whelan to be Held in Atlantic City

Having touched so many lives during his decades of public service as a teacher, lifeguard, city councilman, mayor, assemblyman and senator, the Office of Jim Whelan humbly announces the information for the public memorial which will take place in Senator Whelan's honor.

The public memorial for Whelan will be held at the Boardwalk Hall arena in Atlantic City on Thursday, September 14th. The receiving line to pay respects will be held from 10-11:30 a.m., and the service is scheduled to take place from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Speakers will include multiple statewide and local elected officials, business, sports and local university leaders as well as close friends of the late Whelan, who died earlier this week.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stockton University Foundation with "In Memory of Jim Whelan" written in the note section. Donations will also be accepted online at stockton.edu/development-foundation, or at a charity of your choice.
