GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. -

Donald Norcross, 1st District Congressman of New Jersey, has announced that one South Jersey fire department will soon be able to add another firefighter to their staff, thanks to a new grant.

Norcross says that Gloucester Township Fire District 4 has been awarded a Federal Emergency Management Agency Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant.

The more than $150,000 grant will allow them to hire a fifth full-time firefighter with a fair salary and benefits.

Fire District 4 counts nearly 30 volunteers as a vital part of their department.
