HADDON TOWNSHIP, N.J. -

The Haddon Township Police Department is warning parents to be on the lookout for a man they say attempted to lure a young girl.

Officials released a sketch of the man they say approached the girl on Sunday, August 6th, on Addison Avenue in the Westmont section of the township in southern New Jersey.

The girl, who was riding her bike at the time, says that the man told her he was sent by her parents to pick her up and bring her home.

Police say the girl said 'no' and quickly rode her bike away.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned white man in his late 30s to early 40s with dark hair and wearing thin, silver framed glasses.

Police got a surveillance photo of the car he was driving — a late model tan, four-door sedan, possibly a Hyundai Elantra — with New Jersey plates.

If you have any information about this man or incident you are asked to call the Haddon Township Police Department at 856-833-6209.
