Community Gulps Down Vineland's First Food Truck Fest

Last Edited:

It was a first for foodies in Cumberland County this weekend, who were all thrilled to have their favorite food trucks in one location.

On Sunday, August 6th, officials from the Vineland Downtown Improvement District (VDID) hosted their first ever Food Truck Fest.

Twelve food trucks lined Landis Avenue in downtown Vineland and offered a variety of unique menu items to a hungry crowd of local community members.

Attendees were not only able to indulge in delicious treats, but also had the opportunity to enjoy a wine and beer garden, and learn about healthy lifestyles from yoga instructors at a free Peace, Love and Yoga session. Additionally, there was a kids play zone, a craft fair and live music throughout the inaugural event.

The planning committee hopes that events like these can prove Vineland's worth as a desirable destination for families looking for a fun and safe place to spend their time.

"We want people to really enjoy all the wonderful assets we have in Vineland," said Russell Swanson, executive director of the VDID. "One of the great things about Vineland is that we have a lot of wide open space and a great ethnic mix of wonderful people with all kinds of great backgrounds. It's really just a lovely area to live, work, enjoy, and play."

In addition to events like the Food Truck Fest, the Vineland Downtown Improvement Authority hosts free movies On the Ave every fourth Friday of each month.
