WILDWOOD, N.J. -

On Friday, August 4th, officials from Dune Concerts LLC announced that Eddie Money will headline the first-ever Rock and Roar concert during the 21st annual Roar to the Shore Biker Weekend to be held September 7th-10th.

“We’ve been working on this for a while," said Alan Nau, a Dune Concerts LLC partner. "And sitting down with Joe and the Cape Classic Cycle Group and trying to come up with something that would make this a better venue. And we did. We  [are] very proud to say that we came up with something that’s gonna be good not only for this town but for the whole weekend.”

Jim Steen, who handles talent procurement and marketing for Dune Concerts LLC, announced the headliner to an eager crowd.

If you ask me, the best bike week on the East Coast just got better.

“Number one, we’re very pleased to announce that headlining this event will be Eddie Money,” Steen said as the crowd applauded. “Eddie Money has sold over 20 million records, Eddie Money is one of the best performers, and Eddie Money appears at festivals up and down the east coast in the summer, we’re very glad to have Eddie Money on the line-up for this.”

Joining Money during the concert will be Foghat, Michael Ullman, and New Jersey band Deadfish Handshake.

The mayor gave some insight as to how these musicians were chosen.

“It’s the promoters’ responsibility to basically listen to the community and try to meld the music with the community," said Mayor Ernie Troiani. "And Wildwood is known for its musical history and we’re trying to you know, recreate that.”

“If you ask me, the best bike week on the East Coast just got better,” said Steen. "And we’re looking forward to our partnership with the city of Wildwood, we’re looking forward to our partnership with our motorcycle community and the residents of southern New Jersey and surrounding areas to make this a concert to remember in 2017.”
