NEW JERSEY -

State and local law enforcement held a two-day gun buy-back event last weekend — Guns for Cash — and the results are in.

All the guns have been counted and New Jersey Attorney General Christopher Porrino announced on Wednesday, August 2nd, that more than 4,700 firearms were collected from the Camden, Newark, and Trenton drop-off locations July 28th and July 29th.

Officials say they collected nearly 2,000 hand guns, more than 1,100 shotguns, a little more than 1,000 rifles, and 129 assault weapons.

Porrino stated it was the most successful gun buy back in New Jersey history.
