VINELAND, N.J. -

A few lucky kids put their jingle-singing skills to the test to win South Jersey's heart as well as a giant check.

On Tuesday, July 25th, representatives from OceanFirst Bank awarded students from Buena Regional Middle School with a $1,000 grand prize for their Sing the Jingle contest.

The group of talented young students wrote, performed, and filmed their video entry for the contest, which school officials say was not only a fun experience for kids, but also a great way for them to learn.

"I think they definitely learned to work together. They learned how to work under pressure; they also learned the meaning of rehearsal and getting things right," said Carmen Delia Bryant, Buena Regional Middle School drama teacher. "We're proud of them for putting themselves out there and showing their talents and obviously winning the prize."

Videos were voted on by the public to decide who sang the catchy jingle the best. Buena Regional Middle School said they plan to use the prize money to help fund the school's music department.
