WILDWOOD, N.J. -

A South Jersey amusement company is teaming up with a worldwide entertainment company to open an attraction that’s sure to get visitors lost — in a good way — on the Wildwood Boardwalk.

On Friday, July 14th, the Boardwalk had some unique guests as Ripley’s Entertainment brought in sideshow performers to unveil their latest project, the Ripley’s Adventure Maze at Morey's Piers.

“We love Wildwood and we love Morey’s Piers," said Darren Loblaw, chief financial officer at Ripley’s Entertainment. "We’ve entered a real exciting partnership to open up an attraction here in town.”

“We really want to be the best seaside park in the world and to do that you have to have a great global name brand and quirky attractions," said Jack Morey, second-generation owner of Morey’s Piers. "Ripley’s is quirky, it’s worldwide, they’re great professional managers and we couldn’t be more pleased to welcome them to Wildwood and to Morey’s Piers.”

Instead of doing the normal ribbon cutting for Friday's festivities, Ripley’s officials smashed a mirror to mark the opening of the maze.

The two are partnering on this candy-themed adventure on the Boardwalk next to Morey’s Piers’ Surfside Pier.

“They’ve been here for 50 years," said Loblaw. "[And] Ripley’s has been around for 100 years so we have a lot of history between the two companies as well as a real trusted partner.”

And in true quirky Ripley’s fashion they didn’t just cut a ribbon to mark the occasion.

Instead of doing the normal ribbon cutting for Friday's festivities, Ripley’s officials smashed a mirror to mark the opening of the maze.

After the mirror smashing everyone gathered to check out three new attractions.

“We have a Ripley’s Adventure Maze, which is a mirror maze attraction that you have to find your way through,” said Loblaw.

“You can get seriously lost in a good way,” said Morey.

“We also have a laser maze as well, where you have to get through the end avoiding the laser beams all throughout the attraction,” said Loblaw.

The last of the three is called "Time Freak," and it’s all about racing your opponent to see who can score the highest points while hitting the flashing lights.

“I encourage everyone to come down and check out our attractions and have some fun on the Boardwalk,” said Loblaw.

Ripley’s Adventure Maze is now open to anyone willing to test their luck to find the fastest way out.
