VINELAND, N.J. -

A report from CNN Money ranks Cumberland County College as having the highest rate of student success in New Jersey.

College Measures, a joint venture of the American Institutes of Research and Matrix Knowledge Group, compiled a success rating for each community college in the U.S. to help students in finding the best options for obtaining a post-secondary education.

At 48 percent, Cumberland County College has the highest student success rate of 18 New Jersey community colleges. In addition, Cumberland County College tied for second place among community colleges in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.

The ranking is based on the percentage of students who graduated within three years and/or transferred to four-year colleges using statistics from the National Center for Education Statistics, the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data related to education.

Included in the study are the nation’s community colleges having more than 200 full-time freshman students.

“This reflects greatly on our faculty, staff, and students and also on our Freeholders and partners who continue to invest in higher education in Cumberland County.”

“We have always known that Cumberland County College offers exceptional education across many disciplines. It’s great to be validated by CNN Money,” said Dr. Yves Salomon-Fernandez, president of Cumberland County College. “This reflects greatly on our faculty, staff, and students and also on our Freeholders and partners who continue to invest in higher education in Cumberland County.”

Cumberland’s on-campus University Partners include Fairleigh Dickinson, Georgian Court, Montclair State, Seton Hall, and Wilmington universities.
