EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. -

Lovers of french fries were excited to wake up on Thursday, July 13th, and find out that it's National French Fry Day.

Many celebrated the holiday, including Chickie's and Pete's, which is offering its world-famous Crab Fries for $1 until midnight. If the fries weren't enjoyable enough, the company is donating all the proceeds they make from the dollar-fries sales to the Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police Survivors Fund, which works to protect police and honors fallen officers.

"The customers love it," said Robert Baldwin, manager of the Egg Harbor Township Chickie's and Pete's.

"It's a great way for everybody to just really enjoy the crab fries like they always do, but everybody [should] get in on it. We're getting a great response and each year it gets better and better."
