ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -

On Thursday, July 6th, lines of people gathered outside of the former Trump Taj Mahal to re-enter the famous casino and even take a piece of it home.

The National Content Liquidators began day one of a massive liquidation sale to sell every item in the former Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort, which closed its doors permanently back in October.

Everything is up for grabs from furniture and poker tables to famous artwork and crystal chandeliers.

Shoppers browsed the collection with hopes of buying just a little piece of what was once called "The 8th Wonder of the World."

"We have about 150 rooms open upstairs right now," said Don Hayes, president of National Content Liquidators. "We started at 50 and we're on 46," with more rooms to go, according to Hayes.

"So, we'll be opening new floors as we proceed throughout the next couple of weeks."

The liquidation sale will run Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. until everything is completely sold out.

The Taj Mahal is expected to reopen as the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino next summer.
