Salem County, N.J. -

Officials in Salem County are making sure seniors in the community are able to stay cool this summer.

On Thursday, July 6th, the Salem County Department of Health and Human Services began distributing more than 100 free box fans today to eligible seniors and disabled residents at the Carney's Point Municipal Building.

The fans were made available through a partnership between the County Office of Aging and Disabilities and the Mid-Atlantic States Career and Education Center, as a way to keep residents in need cool during the hot summer months.

Fans will also be given out on Tuesday, July 11th, at the Upper Pittsgrove Municipal Building and on Tuesday, July 18th, at the Cedar Lane Auction.

Both events will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and fans are only available while supplies last.

For more information or to find out if you are eligible you can call the Salem County Office of Aging at 856-339-8622.
