Historic School Closes Its Doors

VINELAND, N.J. -

For almost 90 years, the Landis Intermediate School has touched the lives of students, parents, and community members. But doors to the historic beacon of education in the Vineland community have shut for good to students and new plans for the building's use are underway.

Students and staff said goodbye for the last time on Thursday, June 15th, as its last group of students departed for summer break.

The Vineland Board of Education opted earlier this year to close the school and convert it into an administration building.

The school was originally Vineland's first high school before it was converted into a middle school.

Landis Intermediate School is widely viewed as an historic landmark, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 3rd, 1995.
