VENTNOR, N.J. -

Students in Ventnor got to enjoy a fun-filled day away from textbooks.

Ventnor Middle School students and staff headed outside on Wednesday, June 14th, for their annual Super Extravaganza to celebrate a successful year for the students.

The event is put on as a way to reward those who stayed out of trouble and avoided getting placed in detention during the school year.

"I think this is one of the best days of the school year and they look forward to it," said Kristin Aponte, 6th-grade teacher at the school.

Teachers and staff have put on the event for 10 years as a way to thank their students for staying focused and working hard.

"Each year we get more and more students involved," said Aponte. "Our Super Extravaganza has grown in the last [few] years."

The event had a variety of activities for the students including bounce houses, raffles, games, and plenty of food to celebrate their great behavior throughout the year.
