VINELAND, N.J. -

The Pineland Learning Center celebrated Special Education Week Tuesday, May 16th, by showing the importance of connections.

This year's theme was "Bright Tomorrow for Today's Students" and the main focus was to show the positive impact that connections have on students, their families, and the community.

Pineland created the Connections Matter Project to expose students to why special education matters and how it has helped someone they know.

"Students here are, some have learning disabilities," says Assemblyman Bob Andrzejczak. "And to overcome that they need a lot of support and having the community backing them and support them to really be here to show them that they're not in it alone, that they do have support — that's what we are here to do, support the students and the school."

Special Education Week began on Sunday, May 14th and will run until May 20th.
