PITTSGROVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. -

For some, being a good scout is more than just a motto you live by while you are young. It's a lesson you take with you for the rest of your life.

On Thursday, May 11th, the Garden State Council of the Boy Scouts of America honored one man's lifetime of living by that motto.

The group presented B. Harold Smick, Jr. with the Lifetime Service Award at the Centerton Country Club in Pittsgrove.

At the Council's annual Distinguished Citizen of the Year Reception, Wade Sjögren, the president of Whibco, Inc., was named Cumberland County's Distinguished Citizen of the Year.

Mark Edwards, the executive vice president of Franklin Bank, was the Salem County honoree.
