ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -

A panel of tourism experts met on Wednesday, May 11th, for the Jersey Shorecast to discuss the region's busiest season — summer.

The annual event — sponsored by the Lloyd D. Levenson Institute of Gaming, Hospitality and Tourism of Stockton University — examines the growth of the tourism and business season at the Jersey Shore, which panelists agreed was shaping up to be a good one this year.

Tourism accounts for more than $40 billion in business in New Jersey with half of that coming from the Jersey Shore alone. Experts say tourism is the sixth largest employer in the state, accounting for more than 500,000 jobs.
