CAPE MAY COUNTY, N.J. -

A local brewery is celebrating the 325th anniversary of Cape May County with its newest brew —Follow the Gull IPA.

According to the Cape May Brewing Company, the beer is an exceptionally hoppy IPA and commemorates the founding of the county with 325 pounds of hops and 3,250 pounds of malt.

The Cape May County Department of Tourism asked the brewery to create something special for the anniversary and it was a challenge they happily took on.

"It's really important that we did this beer because being a good neighbor is one of our core values here at Cape May Brewery," said Ryan Krill, president and co-owner of Cape May Brewing Company. "So to engage our local community, our regional community, in a really meaningful way speaks to who we are as a brewery."

There will be an official dedication of Follow the Gull on Friday, May 12th, at 4 p.m. The brew will be available at brewery's tasting room and at bars and restaurants throughout Cape May County, with the expectation that it will be pouring throughout the summer season.
