CAMDEN, N.J. -

Camden is having a resurgence and has the numbers to back it up. The city is currently topping the nation in new employment numbers.

According to numbers released Friday, April 21st, by the United States Department of Labor, the Camden "metro area" leads the nation in employment gains over the past year.

The 3.7-percent increase in employment stems from multiple projects throughout the city, including the building of new headquarters for American Water, the opening of the new Philadelphia 76ers practice facility, and construction of Subaru of America's headquarters and training center.

The Camden metro area consists of Camden, Burlington, and Gloucester counties.
