Good Sign? Active Home Listings Decreasing Throughout NJ

Last Edited:

According to NJ.com, the area in the state with the biggest decrease in active listings of homes for sale is Buena, the southern New Jersey borough in Atlantic County, not too far from Cumberland County.

The web site reports that the overall trend across the state shows that the number of homes on the market have plunged over the past year.

In Buena alone, the number of homes on the market fell 59 percent since February 2016.

On the positive side, the report points out that fewer homes on the market lead to higher prices and a more competitive housing market for buyers.

Along with Buena, rounding out the Top 5 regions with decreasing home listings in New Jersey, are areas in Bergen, Essex, and Hudson counties.
