GLASSBORO, N.J. -

Doctor Ali Houshmand was invited by Congressman Donald Norcross to attend republican President Donald Trump's first address to Congress.

Houshmand is an Iranian-American immigrant who rose from poverty in Tehran to become Rowan University's president.

Congressman Norcross is one of several Democrats who invited immigrants and refugees to the president’s speech, hoping to put a human face on the millions of immigrants who they believe could be hurt by the president's policies.
