Hometown Heroes 2017: Rosalie Ruberti

Last Edited:

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.J. – Rosalie Ruberti is one of those Hometown Heroes who reacts with amazement and humility when told she’ll be honored for a spirit of volunteerism and has no idea why.

Here’s why.

She has been a loyal volunteer at Bishop McCarthy Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare for more than 30 years and currently “works” about six hours a day, seven days a week. She also plays the organ during Mass, has conducted the in-house resident choir, and taught the nuns to play piano and organ, while all along bringing love and laughter to everyone.

Rosalie has been a faithful member of the Catholic Daughters of America for many years, served as president of the Lions Club Lioness group, supports Boys and Girls Club of America, and was just inducted into the Women’s Club of Vineland.

She regularly travels around to play the organ in various area churches.
