Nemours DuPont Pediatrics Partners with First Responders for Holiday Parade

DEPTFORD, N.J. -

Christmas came early at a local children's hospital where Santa himself delivered toys to the children there by way of a festive parade.

The sights and sounds of Christmas were seen and heard in Deptford on Thursday, as police and fire personnel from Voorhees and Deptford paraded along Almonesson Road to make a special delivery to boys and girls at Nemours DuPont Pediatrics. The gift giving was made possible thanks to generous toy donations from the community.

"What happens is when you have a child in the hospital parents can't get out and do Christmas shopping and they get very stressed about being able to provide a Christmas for their children in the hospital," said Kim Pakinson, side operations director for Nemours DuPont Pediatrics in Deptford

This first-time holiday event was sponsored by the International Firefighters of South Jersey and South Jersey Federal Credit Union.
