ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -

Atlantic City Police Department's community relations and athletic league are asking that you come out to shoot some hoops in honor of a fellow officer.

On Saturday and Sunday, they are sponsoring a basketball tournament fundraiser in honor of officer Josh VadellVadell a 9-year-veteran of the force returned home from a rehabilitation center earlier this week after he was shot in the head on September 3rd while interrupting an attempted robbery.

The basketball games will be held at the city's high school located on Albany Avenue and will begin at 10 a.m. with opening ceremonies beginning at 9:30 a.m.

They are asking for a $5 donation at the door.

Other police departments joining the games include Egg Harbor Township, Galloway, Philadelphia, New York, and the Washington D.C. Metro Police. There will also be fire department representatives from Atlantic City, Pleasantville, Philadelphia, and New York there as well.
